Bonus Bonus!!!

Well, yesterday I was wondering if I would be literally blessed with some cash rewards and today I can surely say that
“Yes!!! The Cash registers are RINGING!!!”

Well I think that my 20% bonus (well for a period of 7 months) along with a similar increment in the salary just after 7 months into the job speaks volumes about the importance that my company attaches to me!!!!

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

Well just kidding..
But it does speak volumes about the importance that the company attaches to its biggest assets, their employees. Bill Gates once said that the most important assets of any company walk in every morning and walk out every evening. I believe DB India for one, is a company that believes in this both in word and spirit.
Yesterday was pretty tough to be I office. When I generally turn up at around quarter to ten in the morning, the place is more or less empty. But yesterday the place was buzzing with excitement and anticipation of the loot that each one would carry back home!!! The mood was upbeat and it also was an upward moving curve as each one went inside the “den” (KS office) and came back with a multi watt smile. Yesterday we could have easily switched off power in the building and still manage with adequate light!!

We were told by Anahita that every year the MT’s are called in the end. We were anxious, nervous, edgy, jumpy and on the whole a little panicky. People were getting promoted right left and centre. And finally at about 2 sorts, Anahita came and said “KS wants to meet u guys!”
Well Navneet went in first and for the time that he was in the jittery me had already made use of the loo once, drank water twice, checked the mirror thrice, tucked the shirt nearly four times. Even then my throat was completely parched. He walked out poker faced and asked me to go in as I was next.
I was handed over the much awaited sheet that had the figures of my bonus and the increment. In my mind I had the answer ready to the question that I assumed he will ask.

“ Abhishek! Are you satisfied with these numbers?”
“Yes Sir!! Completely, Wholly, Utterly, in every aspect!!!!”

But alas it never came.
But still these were the words that came to my mind when I walked out with a smile that only made the already bright room, a little brighter!!!
